Gender is a consept to distinguish men for women in socio-cultural points of view. Gender ini case define men and women from non-biological aspect. Many qur'anic versus state that men and women have equally important roles in all aspects of human life, and they are collaboratiove partners. No one is more superior nor more inferior than the other because each has his/her own duty and function based on their natural state. That men are stated to give shelter, be responsible or the backbone of a family is consistent with the social structure which requires men to have more roles in public affairs and naturally, women in domestic domain. However, it does not negate the possibibly opposite roles as far as they are not against the nature. Al Qur'an and hadith never discriminate those human genders, because Allah always creates everythink in pairs and one complementary for the other.
