This article attempts to describe the system of court, called peradilan surambi, precticed in the Islamic Mataram kingdom in java particular in the Sultan Agung reign. the system used is also called tauliyah under dominant control of the Sultan himself, who positioned himself of wali al'Amr zu al Syaukah. The system replaced the previous one, celled peradilan pradata: The sources of the former are book of Suria Alam [combination of Islamic and Javanese law] but it was under Sultan's control in which the appointed a head of penghulu to put it into practice. The structure of the court system can be categorized into collegiale rechtspraak. However, the role of Sultan is considered central in the court due to the admission of his leadhership in the world and hereafter.het.
