The study tried to dicribe the efforts of NU Jember in soecity inporwerment in the case of education, their the proponents and barries as well. This was qualitative descriptive study with the phenomenological approach. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. The data obtained from observation, interview, and documentary study were analyzed with grounded research analysis model. The result showed that NU Jember have done various efforts and society empowerment both through formal education and non formal ones.het.
