Empirically, a religion can be seen from its followers' behaviors in their daily life. The behaviors may becoe expression of religious sense which which can be traced back from the values of religion that they believe. Such expression, later on, makes a religion exist as symbol of culture. It is Clifford Geertz who is competent in doing research on religion using cultural approach. Even though his theories come up with much criticism, in one side, they contribute very much to the study of religion. Therefore, many researchers refer to his theories when they conduct researches on the basis of anthropology. ifa.
