Pluralism has given rise to the pros and cons, especially among the clergy. Pluralism has been being distorted and misunderstood. Therefore, a comprehensive explanation of the nature and substance of pluralism is still needed. Pluralism actually tried to get a more realistic stance that the religions are essentially different one another. The adherents of pluralism urge an urgency of some meeting points of religions. For this reason, pluralism is different from relativism, which denies the importance of the efforts to build a shared commitment among the various communities. Thus, pluralism serves to open the horizons of the sociological aspects of religions, especially religions' struggle in coping with recent globalization. Pluralism becomes an alternative for the birth of social understanding which can provide an inspiration for the adherents of religions in order to maximaze their social roles, as ti improve tolerance, voluntarism, and protection of minorities...ifa.
