After the controversy on act regarding pornography and porn-action, the writer sees that issue on abortion is going to be the next controversy. The issue on abortion is related to the controversy surrounds its prohibition regulated in Health Law Number, 23 year 1992. According to many parties, the law has potential to actually endanger the lives of women and fetal rights. Prohibition on abortion that was originally intended to protect the rights of the fetus life is actually refers to unsafe abortion that are dangerous and can end in the maternal mortality as well as the fetus at once. Unfortunately, the law fails to consider the reality that there are many unwanted pregnancies. And this is the very reason why the law is problematic. Indonesia is one several countries that is is againts the legalization of abortion.
