Islam is a religion that spreads blessingsupon all creatures in the world, including women. Amongst society with social and culture construction which discriminates against women and in fact does not perceive women as full human being [read: consider them as half human being], Islam has come introducing the teaching that can be considered as a breakthrough due to it's progressively enlightening teaching that recognizes the existence and the dignity of women. Islam acknowledge that women have rights in many aspects includes right to receive dowry, right to receive inheritance, and so forth. The difference between the stipulated amount received in inheritance between son and daughter should not be seen as discrimination. Instead it should be seen as the part of the gradual process in bettering women rights in inheritence. In addition, biological and physical difference between men and women can not and should not be used as a reason or an argument to discriminate against women...ifa.
