Peningkatan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa SMP Negeri 2 Jember melalui teknik permainan kata berbantuan komputer :
This classroom action research was conducted in order 1)to create a vocabulary learning atmosphere which is more interesting and meaningful, and 2)to improve the students' vocabulary achievement through the application of computer assissted vocabulary games. The subjects were class 7C students of SMP Negeri 2 Jember in the 2007/2008 academic year. The research consisted of 2 cycles in which each cycle consists of 4 phases of CAR. In each cycles, the researcher applied three teaching actions by means of computer assissted vocabulary games. The games were matching Card games, memory games, Bingo, Pencil and paper games, and Guessing games. Process and product evaluation were carried out both in cycle I and cycle II. The eavluation showed that most students were very interested and ethusiastic during the teaching and learning activities, and their average score on vocabulary met the taergetted score [mean score was higher than 75].
