The modern world does not always make human lifes more individualistic. Instead, they show loyalty to the principles of a tradition characterized by communalism. An Uduk Byar tradition in Sukosari Kapuran Badegan Ponorogo indicates that the solidarity is a tendency for people no matter how the world has changed. This study intends to efollowsxamine uduk byar tradition that is still popular and preserved by the community of Sukosari. The research questions of this study are as follow. First, to provide an overview of the procession of uduk byar tradition which takes place in the community of Kapuran Badegan Ponorogo. Second, to understand the relathionship between the phenomenonof uduk byar tradition with the social solidarity among the people of Kapuran Badegan Ponorogo. This study used a qualitative approach by providing in-depth interpretation of the findings of the field based on social facts which happened.
