In fact, tawassul and wasilah have a positive connotation, that is as a means for oneself in approaching his/her God. Nevertheless, as a part of religious discourse, tawassul and wasilah are of the never-ending controversies among muslim community. These controversies, which bring muslim commonity into the healthy-atmosphere of polemical competition, stem from the different interpretation of tawassul and wasilah in such sacred texs as the Qur'an and Hadits. Yet a clarification regarding this issue must be attempted in order for the muslim comunity to be more well-informed. syur.
