Tuntutan berlakunya hukum Islam di daerah istimewa Aceh :
Many regions' demand of having autonomy for their own area is one of the undeniable impacts of the on-going reformation. There are various demands they need; from asking to manage their own natural sources to inquiry to apply Islamic law. Aceh is one the regions which extraordinarily requests the implementation of wide autonomy, including the application of Islamic law. Histoically speking, the demand of Acehnese to implement shati'ah can be considered reasonable, due to the fact Aceh has been, and is, known as Serambi Makkah. However, the demand of Acehnese to accomplish shari'ah must be taken into account to the from of Indonesia's national law. It means that the Acehnese's demand to be able to implement shari'ah cannot lead to the separation of Aceh from Indonesia. In other words, Aceh is not an indenpendent area, but is still an inseparable part of Indonesia. syur.
