There are, at least, three matters generating difference in opinion on drawing an understanding of religion [ijtihad]. These three are connected, first, to the source of law; second, to the tradition; and third, to the method of understanding. The last matter of the three has a close relationship with the linguistic problem and the theory about appraisal of good and bad aspects. This article will analyze this theory of appraisal.het.
