Phenomenology appeared as one of the important approaches to Islam in the early twentieth century. This approach emphasizes on the unveiling of the role and meaning of religion in human life. In this context, phenomenology requires certain attitudes of scholars, such as empathy, epoche and eiditic vision, as well as knowledge of social sciences and humanities. This phenomenological approach will necessarily result in a more comprehensive understanding of the esoteric dimensions of islam, which are not only thought but also felt and meant by muslims.he.
