The Azahari bombing actions have made negative image on Indonesia. It went even further since it involved Islam as a terror agent. The negative image on Indonesia and Islam is a meaning constructed by media. the way the media constructs the terorism case happened in Indonesia varied. The study investigated how the media framed the combat againts terrorism and how the social culturepractice perceived the framing of terrorism combat in society. Guy Cook said that there are three central things in term of discourse: text, context, and discourse. Text consists of all kinds of language, not just words printed in pieces ofpaper, but also all kinds of communication expressions such as, specch acts, musics, sound effects, images, and so on. The study uses critical paradigm. By using the critical paradigm, the usage of language in speech and written acts is seen a matter of social practice. The result of the study showed that Kompas daily framed the terrorism combat by opening the polemic..yo.
