The article will explain the Imam Syafi'i thought on gender issues in Islam. There are some cases showed us that Imam Syafi'i work in Islamic jurisprudence [fiqh] bias gender, so decided that Syafi'i product on Islamic law not suitable with current condition. According to writer this fact not fully true. In some product of jurisprudence indicates that Syafi'i advocate women from men domination and give previlege in measuring her life. There are some evidence which indicate to it such as giving protection for women in pilgrimage, giving easiliness in fertility to worship, in nusyus and some cases which indicates his advocation for women. By sociological approach to dig his work, the writer found in his main work al Umm and some kitab which generally not bias for women.yo.
