Fiqh as a discipline of science represents a product af ijtihad so that it has been growing continually, following the change of society and culture. The wave of tajdid movement has pushed the importance of the new formula of fiqh that could solve the contemporary problems of society. The new paradigm of fiqh, which matches the context of progress and growth, has born the social fiqh. Social fiqh as the form of new paradigm in fiqh represents the part of contextualization of the Islamic law in Indonesia society, which aims at gaining the welfare og human being. KH. Ali Yafie has raised the discourse of social fiqh togive the alternatives of problem solving, and linked the truth of orthodoxy withsocial hermeneutics. This discource has opened the opportunity of the democratization of text interpretation, which has frozen for long time. With its anthropocentric character, social fiqh has opened an opportunity of plural interpretationof Islamic law.yo.
