This research aims at analyzing the ethos of the shari'ah-based monetarial institution [baitul mal wa tamwl/BMT], receiving empirical evidence and finding out the relation between religio-social phenomena and the individual and organizational ethos of the financial institution. This research is expected to give a contribution to the development of Islamic economics and to develop available theories of Islamic financial management and banking, especially in relation to the shari'ah-based monetary. Its hypotheses are the following: 1)there would be differences among shari'ah-based institutions in terms of their capital structure, liquidation, efficiency and rent system; 2)religiosity, Islamic ethos and individual rank would influence the managerial ethos of the institution. It is a qualitative research in which religiosity, Islamic work ethics, individual rank and the organizational work of BMTs represent its analyzed objects and the managers of 40 BMTs which are organized......yo.
