A discussion of the political system in Islam is always interesting and controversial. The issue between Islam as a system of rituals and living systems that integrate ukhrawi aspects and temporal aspects are always emeging in the midst of the search of concept of the state. Indeed today, almost no region of the world that has not fully established a state. In other words, today's conception of the state are already applied in the life of mankind. But it is pity that state practice has not fully guaranteed the rights of citizens and met the livelihood of many people. Consequently, discussions about the concept of the state always appear in the midst of a country's survival. This paper describes the differences in Islamic political thoughts of three figures, namely al Ghazzali, Ibnu Taymiyyah, and Ibn Khaldun on the origin of a country, the factors supporting the establishment of the state, the relathinship between religion and state, the task of the head of state...ifa.
